Privacy Policy — Japan Address Guard

Japan Address Guard ("we", "our", "the App") is a Wix application that checks Japanese shipping addresses (and, for paid subscribers, phone number format) during checkout to help reduce delivery errors. This policy explains what data the App processes and how.

1. Data we process during checkout

When a shopper reaches checkout, Wix sends the shipping address fields (country, postal code, prefecture, city, street address) to the App, and, for merchants on the Pro plan who have enabled phone number checking, the phone number. The App uses this data only to check its format and does not retain the address or phone number content after the request completes. This data is processed in memory for the single checkout request and then discarded.

2. Data we do not collect or retain

• We do not send shopper address or phone data to third-party address-verification, analytics, advertising, or marketing services. Postal code and prefecture/city consistency checks are performed entirely using a reference dataset published by Japan Post (日本郵便) that we host ourselves. Cloudflare, our infrastructure and hosting provider, processes requests solely in that capacity and is subject to its own data processing terms.
• We do not store shopper names, addresses, postal codes, or phone numbers.
• We do not use cookies, analytics tags, or advertising trackers in connection with the App.
• Our own application logs contain only rule identifiers, pass/fail status, and non-identifying flags (for example, whether a phone number was present), and we do not enable Cloudflare's platform-level request/response logging for the checkout validation endpoint. We therefore do not intentionally log the address or phone number content itself.

3. Data we do store

To operate the App, we store the following for each site where the App is installed:

• The Wix app instance identifier for your site.
• The settings you choose in the App's dashboard (validation mode, which rules are enabled, custom warning messages, and your subscription plan).
• A monthly count of how many checkout validations were performed (a number only, not the content of those checkouts).

4. Data retention and deletion

We retain the settings above for as long as the App is installed on your site. When you uninstall the App, we delete the active application settings after receiving and processing Wix's uninstall notification. Residual copies may remain temporarily in our infrastructure provider's backups and are not retained beyond 7 days.

5. Infrastructure and international processing

The App runs on Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1, which act as our infrastructure and hosting provider; we do not use any other third-party processor. Because Cloudflare operates a globally distributed network, information may be processed in countries or regions other than the shopper's or merchant's own, including outside Japan. Where applicable, we rely on our infrastructure provider's standard contractual and legal safeguards for such processing.

6. Security

We access the App's production infrastructure over encrypted HTTPS connections only, and access to that infrastructure is restricted to authorized personnel. We do not intentionally include checkout address or phone number content in our application logs.

7. Your rights

Because the App does not retain checkout address or phone number content after a validation request completes, we generally cannot identify or retrieve that data afterward. Shoppers should direct privacy requests (such as access, correction, or deletion requests) to the merchant operating the Wix site where they shopped; we will assist the merchant and respond to applicable requests as required by law. Merchants may contact us directly at info@medix-r.net regarding the settings and instance data described in Section 3.

8. Contact and inquiries

If you contact us (for example, at info@medix-r.net), we use the information you provide only to respond to your inquiry, and retain it only as long as needed for that purpose.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
